What happens to your data.
Short version: I collect only what you write in the form, I use it to reply to you, and I give it to nobody. The rest of this page is the same thing at length.
Who handles the data
The data controller is Kevin Salimbeni, VAT number IT02942990181. For anything about your data write to hello@spikeworks.io and a person answers.
What I collect
Only what you send through the contact form: your name, your email address and the text of your message. There is no other form on the site and I collect nothing behind your back.
How it reaches me
The form works in one of two ways, depending on how the site is set up at the moment you use it.
If pressing send opens the message in your own mail program, the data passes through none of my systems: it goes from your device to my mailbox like any other email.
If instead the form sends on its own, the message goes through a Cloudflare service that forwards it to my mailbox. In that case Cloudflare handles the data on my behalf, as a processor.
Why
To reply to you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering people who write to me.
I do not use your data for marketing, I do not add you to any list, and I do not send you anything you did not ask for.
For how long
I keep messages as long as they are needed to handle your enquiry and any work that comes out of it. If nothing comes of it, I delete them within twenty-four months.
Who else sees it
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. If the form sends on its own, the message also passes through an email sending service. These are suppliers appointed as processors: they handle the data only to get it to me, not for purposes of their own.
Some of them may process data outside the European Union. Where that happens, the transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
I do not sell your data to anyone and I do not pass it on for advertising.
Cookies: there are none
This site uses no cookies. There is no analytics tool, no pixel, no third party service following you from page to page. That is why there is no banner to accept.
The only thing left on your device is your choice between the light and dark theme, saved in the browser local storage. It is not a cookie, it is never sent anywhere, and clearing the site data removes it.
What you can ask me
You can ask to see the data I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how it is used, or to receive a copy. You can also object to the processing.
Write to hello@spikeworks.io: you get me, not a form. If you think I am getting something wrong you can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
